NUEVO MEXICO PROFUNDO is collaborating with the hermanos and Cornerstones Community Partnerships on the restoration of the Truchas morada of Los Hermanos de la Fraternidad Piadosa de Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno. Some of the hermanos are pictured in the second photo below. The hermano mayor, Jeremiah Martinez, on the left, is also a musician; samples are here.
The morada is located on the High Road just outside of the village. The restoration began on July 22, 2024; some images of early work and progress follow. Special thanks to the Cornerstones work crew and volunteers, who are removing the stucco and mudding the morada.
The morada was likely built in the mid-to-late 1700s; the roof was raised and the stucco added in 1980.
